MONICA'S PLACE

MONICA'S PLACE WISHES YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Pet parent: Gina

While shopping at Petsmart, Gina decided to look at the animals up for adoption. “With two cats, four Tokey geckos, fish, and a new baby, we never thought we would actually adopt another pet,” Gina says.

“A tiny black and white kitten, the runt of the litter, was curled up in bed sleeping and caught her eye. My husbandknew that if I held the cat; it was going to come home with us,” Gina says.

Though Gina worried about the added responsibility after just returning to work from maternity leave and adjusting to be a working mom, she watched her husband holding the kitten and smiling and that’s what sealed the deal.

“Merlin has to be the most affectionate cat we have ever had. He has the biggest personality! We have had Merlin for over a year now and not a day goes by that I don’t wonder what we would have done without him in our lives,” says Gina.

you're lucky. I lived in Manhattan nearly all of my life. I'm married here in Yorkshire and only had dogs for the past few years. i don't know how i managed before.
there were loads of dogs in Manhattan but they didn't have much of alife--so many of them. they'd be walked up and down like one block. the really responisble owners took them at least to big parks where they could run around.
i am so grateful now though to have them! we live in semi rural yorkshire and my guys are walked on farm land. so it's great!
are you putnam county? that's beautiful country up there!

Foreword to Buff, A Collie by Albert Payson Terhune

A swirl of gold-and-white and gray and black,—
Rackety, vibrant, glad with life’s hot zest,—
Sunnybank collies, gaily surging pack,—
These are my chums; the chums that love me best.

Not chums alone, but courtiers, zealots, too,—
Clean-white of soul, too wise for fraud or sham;
Yet senseless in their worship ever new.
These are the friendly folk whose god I am.

A blatant, foolish, stumbling, purblind god,—
A pinchbeck idol, clogged with feet of clay!
Yet, eager at my lightest word or nod,
They… Continue
