I love animals! I have always had a little poodle for my companion. My husband and I just this past December, 2007, had to put our poodle down due to illness. It was soo hard to do! This site is for her; Monica's memory.

My husband and I got our labrador retriever from the neighbors a block away. They were finding homes for the pups of their dog. I picked her out. We had only been married for 4 months and we couldn't get her to stop whining and go to sleep so at 6 am we took her downstairs to my mother-in-law and asked if she would dog sit so we could sleep. lol Can you imagine us with a real kid?! lol She was so tiny when we got her she fit into a basket. She likes to have her blankey to suck on and loves her main man, my husband, and her second main man, our neighbor! She is 12 years old now and has some complications from getting old but she is still getting around and being happy. Oh ya, can't forget she loves food!

HI Monica,

Thought you might like to see Sally, our latest rescue, who we collected on Thursday. She about 6 months old, an abandoned Jack Russell cross, and as you can see she's a very tiny and quite unusual. If you look closely you'll see she has odd eyes, one large, one small! I've added these photos to my album too, but wanted to give you a personal glimpse.

Hello there.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed looking at the photos of my little pack and I loved the individual comments you left for each one. I'm glad you liked that last photo of Tilly. It's my personal favorite of her and I always think she is looking at me with all the love her little heart can muster in that one. I'm also so pleased you're going to feature it. I'm very grateful.

I'm glad the video brought a tear to your eye. If it did that to everyone perhaps there'd be a little less cruelty in the world. We've just been to arrange to collect our latest rescue. Sally is a little 6 month old crossbreed with a bit of Jack Russell in her, and we'll be bringing her home on Friday. She'll be number 11 in our house! I can't wait to add her photos too.

Thanks so much for your lovely words once again.

I'm delighted that you enjoyed all the photos of my little 'pack' of rescues. On Friday we'll be adding Sally (Our name), a 6 month old rescued pup who looks like a cross between our Snoopy and Penny, but without the eye patch. She was found wandering the streets and picked up by the wardens, but from Friday she'll have a home of her own!

How can we get rid of ticks?

We have developed a severe tick problem and can't seem to find a solution. It all started about a year ago, when we started finding ticks on the dogs. We had never had a tick problem here before. So we put the dogs on Frontline Plus. We have always had an exterminator spray the house and yard once a month for fleas, so we asked them to start spraying for ticks as well. It did not help.
